Apple stoled my money

March 9th, 2006 at 11:13 AM by

I bought Apple stock today. I’ve been sitting on my graduation money for about a week now, but today the stock was doing some tempting things, so I finally threw down. 15 shares at $64.43 now have my name on them.

Their online system was puking at me, so I ended up calling it in. Usually there’s an associated fee, but I got that waved, due to the troubles.

I expect my riches will be pouring in any moment now. Should I place that order for a personal jet now or later?

Personally, I think you should send some of those riches my way so I can quit my evil job and keep working part-time at my good job while filling in the extra hours by making stuff to sell. Maybe I’ll even write a little.

  2. Mason Says:

    Dude, so you payed $966.45 total (15 * 64.43)? That’s flippin awesome!

  3. Dieter Says:

thats darn cheap for apple stock! isnt it usually up around $100?

  4. Alexandra Says:

Heh Tyler, talk your brother Mason who actually has some cash on hand for a change, and get him to do some of that stock. You never know Mason it’s kinda like gambling, you know your favouite passtime!

  5. Hugh Says:

Smarter than me. I bought a bunch at $75.

  6. Tyler Says:

Yeah, it kept going down after I bought it too, down exactly 0.5. It’s a good thing I had to jump through so many hoops to buy stock, or I would have bought it back when it was at 75 too.

Oh well, rumor has it a new iPod will be released on April Fool’s Day. That should bring it up again.

  7. Tyler Says:

Oh and Mason, I’m not sure if I’d recommend buying stock. I’m doing it mostly cuz I can’t think of anything else to do with the money. But it’s like gambling without any of the fun or the friends.

It’s more interesting than putting the money in a savings account, though. It’s also good practice, in case you ever get a job that partially pays you in stock.

  8. Min Says:

I had a sleepy thought this morning about starting a savings account and linking it through a stock agency. And then I woke up, realizing that I will never have the money to buy stocks. Silly me.

  9. Mason Says:

haha ok, Ill keep playing poker, made $500 this week total too!
