Code Monkey like Fritos

April 23rd, 2006 by

Code Monkey is a song that was just released for free on the internets. It’s really great. It’s so great that I transcribed the lyrics. You can get ‘em after the jump. (more…)

Hell Hath Frozen Over

April 21st, 2006 by

This week has been very strange indeed. And today—whoa, boy! And it’s only 10:23 AM. I’m kinda scared about what the rest of the day holds.

Yucky:

  1. I think I broke my thumb last night by smacking it into an executive leather computer chair.
  2. I called the union—twice. They have yet to call me back about the evil job.
  3. My boss at the evil job has become meaner.
  4. I feel like a failure at the good job.

But time for the Happy:

  1. One of my items was featured on the front page of Etsy—the site I sell on.
  2. My friend thinks T-mobile (his workplace) is going to offer Tyler an interview!
  3. Amazon-freakin-dot-com called to offer me a phone interview!
  4. My work-finding depression has disappeared—if Amazon-freakin-dot-com can call me, certainly other people can!

Buy Me Some Food

April 20th, 2006 by

Been working kinda hard lately, which I’m definitely not used to.

I’m finally applying to my first engineering position. It’s an internship at T-Mobile, but who knows where that could lead.

I’m working on somone’s website on the side at akashaconsulting.net. Right now it’s just got a coming soon page, but hopefully there will be more by the end of the week.

I also added a little bit to the library page I mentioned before. Now it looks a little more ambitious :) .

I hope everyone is doing well. Come buy me some food!

Crash Course

April 6th, 2006 by

At work, I’ve been building a webpage that helps the library staff get to know more about the computing side of the library. Here is the Computer Labs Crash Course. It’s nothing super special and the information probably isn’t very relevant to the Amick family, but the design is kinda neat. If you’re bored, you can look through it and tell me what you think.

Part of the reason I like my job so much is that I can choose most of my own projects.

May Contain Sub-natural Flavorings

March 1st, 2006 by

For the first time in my life, I was offered a job and I don’t want it. I have to accept it, though, because I don’t have any money. The people I’ll be working for really creep me out. They also took two weeks longer than promised to offer me the job. Bastards.

Oh, and I need reading glasses this very moment in order to work and take editorial classes. Sadly, every single one of my HMO branches is booked until April.

Despite the above, I’m not that unhappy. I’m more freaked out and apprehensive.

ATTN: Mason & Stephanie, job

February 28th, 2006 by

Go here: Catalyst Employment

Look at the top. That is the easiest job in the world! It’s my old one at the computer labs. Just below it is a very similar job, but you teach people computer stuff in classes. Not as easy.

Anyway, you’ll notice they’re hiring. Apply, and I will give heap good reference.
