Room Update

August 12th, 2009 by

I just picked up a few things at Ikea to get my room a little bit more organized. I got this cool bookcase for $30 in the “as is sale scetion” instead of the usual $50 price and put a big curtain up in front of my closet since I took the closet doors down. It feels good to have everything in its place now, aka stuffed under the bed.

Joint sculpture

July 29th, 2009 by

After realizing it was too late to cancel my summer sculpture class I jumped into the class two weeks in. This is the final sculpture I made for this class. The sculpture is an abstraction of a human forearm.

The Chalk Back

May 28th, 2009 by

I just finished my chair “The Chalk Back” for the Mount baker Plywood Project last night. We had a create today consisting of several 4-7 year olds trying out our furniture. The problem for this project was to make some sort of educational furniture for the younger age bracket.

WWU ID trip to California

April 4th, 2009 by

I just got back from a great week long trip to San Diego and Los Angeles. I went with 30 other students in Western’s ID program to visit various design firms and museums. I’ve made a flickr account to showcase all of our adventures on the trip: WWUindustrialdesign flicker.

Coupon Book Back Cover

November 21st, 2008 by

I just completed this ad today! The previous ad had a bunch of pictures of the employees, which was good but had already been done, and the pictures included many of the previous student employees and hadn’t been updated in a long time. For this ad I wanted to put an emphasis on the student run aspect of the store, and the fact that we’re a non-profit organization so all of our revenues go back into the student body. So I took a picture of Mary a good friend of mine and fellow student worker at the bookstore. Along with the slogan “students working for students” Leigh Ann and I came up with 10 of the top reason why students should shop at our store. We went around the store asking people for their opinions of what they thought were the best reasons.
