Ok, here’s the story, quite a few months ago when we visited Bellingham trying to track down Tyler’s kayak guy, we stopped into an antique shop next door.  I saw this simple blue milk jug that I liked, but, hey what do I need a blue milk jug for anyway?  A few hours south of Bellingham, I realized that I liked the blue milk jug and wished I purchased it.  So a few weeks later, I got on the phone w/Dieter and asked him to find it and buy it for me.  Well, they had moved some stuff around and it was nowhere to be found.  A few days before my birthday, Dieter asked what I wanted for my birthday and I told him “the blue milk jug”.  We laughed and I asked him to try one more time, ’cause I can’t imagine TOO much demand for blue milk jugs. He tried and no blue milk jug once again.  Fast forward to the day before my birthday.  I’m sitting on the sofa in Vancouver and Dieter asks if I want my birthday present.  I said, “Finally, the blue milk jug!”.  Dieter walked back to his room muttering about the damn blue milk jug and out he came with it!  Here it is in all its glory.  It’s Villeroy & Boch and at least 100 years old.  One old chip out of the spout, but pretty simple and elegant for the late 1800′s.Â

It was 51 years ago to this day, when the mom unit began her reign over this world. Praise be to her.
