Raving Amicks

I convinced mom and dad to get out of their comfort zones and take a cross country ski class with me on Mount Hood. I’m still shocked that they actually agreed to do it, but in the end we all had a lot of fun. The class was only 2 hours long but we managed to take away quite a bit of knowledge. We even journeyed out by ourselves after finishing our beginner’s class exploring a few different trails.

I can’t believe I made the train today. My bus came a couple minutes early and I was pretty sure I was screwed. The only other bus I could possibly take was ten minutes up the hill and even then I doubted it could get me to the train on time.

So then I whooped out my tubephone and discovered that the ten-minutes-away bus was leaving in less than five. And since I had nothing to lose at this point, I huffed it up the hill with my overfilled backpack and suitcase.

Wouldn’t you know it? I just barely made it. Which is good too, cuz the train also left early (though, with me on it). Hooray for creative bussing!

Tyler and I have been idly playing with the new camera, but there are so many crazy settings and we haven’t had a chance to take it outside of the apartment for a real test-run yet. Here’s a shot I took this morning of the flowers, though. Since it’s super gray and overcast outside, this was taken in horrendous indoor “lighting” and the only edits were a simple crop. Came out pretty sharp and amazing considering the conditions!

Hey everyone, my phone was stolen about a week ago, I need to call Sprint and I should have another soon. Happy Mother’s day mom, sorry I didn’t call…but I love you of course. In the meantime, who can guess what movie this is from ( Dad you should know this one, we watched it together once in the living room! ) — “Do you have any Tobacco?” Ok.

Today was the Bookstore Holiday Open house in which I dressed up as santa claus handing out candy canes and flyers (which I designed myself!).

  

Mindy and I were able to catch up with Mason today, so we interrogated him a bit and I’ve added it all to the “Mason’s Whereabouts” link on the sidebar. Keep in mind that the link will not work unless you are logged in, for obvious reasons. Here’s a picture to whet your appetite:
